Energy management system and the establishment of the institute of energy managers
Training sessions on the "Introduction of Community Energy Management System and Appointment of Energy Managers" are being conducted for relevant specialists of Kotayk, Gegharkunik, Tavush, Lori, Gyumri, Shirak and Aragatsotn marzes.
Project experts presented the importance of implementing the Energy Management Information System and the work being done in this direction.
During the course, community specialists became familiar how the energy management system works, the data it generates and how to apply it. Yerevan's example was presented, showcasing how the system was implemented and what challenges were encountered.
Special emphasis was made on the Institute of Energy Managers. Within the framework of the UNDP-GCF "De-risking and Scaling-up Investments in Energy Efficient Building Retrofits" project communities with energy efficient retrofitted buildings had committed to implementing an energy management information system.
The guide for introducing the Energy Management System and the Institute of Energy Managers was shared with the course participants. Through a question and answer session, participants summarized the information they received, discussed specific examples and clarified the benefits of implementing the system for their communities.
It was emphasized that the Energy Management Information System will help monitor energy flows in community institutions and improve their operational efficiency.
